Fig & Flower believes that using natural, eco-friendly products is the safest and most effective way to look and feel your best. Increasing studies link chemicals in traditional cosmetics, skincare, and other personal care products to health conditions such as allergies, hormonal disruptions, reproductive issues, cancer, and many others. The only cosmetic ingredients regulated by the FDA are color additives meaning almost anything can go into cosmetics. This makes it very hard for consumers to know which products are potentially harmful.
Fig & Flower’s mission is to provide our customers with convenience, quality and peace of mind in selecting beauty, personal care and nutritional products. We do this by carrying the highest quality natural products that contain only the purest, non-toxic ingredients.
Fig & Flower takes the guesswork out of purchasing eco-chic products by spending countless hours hand selecting each product to ensure that products do not contain any of the following:
Aluminum, Animal Testing, Formaldehyde, Glycols, Parabens, Petrochemicals, Phenoxyethanol, Phthalates, Silicones, Sodium Laurel/Laureth Sulfate, Synthetic Fragrances, Triclosan...
...and lots of other bad stuff!
Fig & Flower values making socially responsible choices that supported local and small businesses, follow strict cruelty-free guidelines, and encourages fair-trade and sustainable business and farming practices. Fig & Flower serves to spread the message of health, wellness, and social responsibility to others in order to create a more sustainable, and thus more beautiful, future!
Sara Lamond, Founder
Around 2010, I chose to make a series of lifestyle changes to help me become the best version of myself. As part of my journey, I joined a cross fit inspired boot camp program, which introduced me to a new way of eating that focused on real, nutrient-rich foods. As I shifted to a diet of primarily clean foods, I noticed that a lot of symptoms that I thought were unrelated and that I had just "learned to live with" were actually caused by the foods I was ingesting.
This discovery, and my greatly improved overall health, piqued my awareness of not only the ingredients I put in my body, but also those that I use on my body. The less processed and more natural the ingredients - whether in my food or products - the better I looked and felt. Over time, I started researching ingredients on the Environmental Working Group's website, Skin Deep, which ranks ingredient and product toxicity. There, I learned about the harmful ingredients that are almost entirely unregulated in beauty products.
Around this time in my journey, I found myself dissatisfied in my career. I wanted to invest my time doing something I was passionate about and something that provided joy to others. I knew I wanted to spread the message of health and wellness, with an emphasis on sustainable living.
That's when my friend, Blair Wagoner, who also shares a love of clean living, brought up the idea of all-natural, nontoxic eco-beauty bar in Atlanta. Blair had spent several years researching and testing beauty products in her own routine, searching for the highest quality, cleanest products available. She was uniquely qualified for the task, too, due to her Master's in Nutrition! Frustrated at having to order her beauty products online, Blair saw an opportunity for Atlanta's first truly all-natural beauty store. With Blair's inspiration and my own desire to bring health and joy to my community, Fig & Flower, a one stop boutique and online store for all things healthful, natural, and beautiful, was born!
